Mahmoud Shbat is a Syrian painter and portraitist born on the 6th of June, 1997, in Damascus and graduated from Adham Ismail Center in 2019. The young artist participated in several art exhibitions, events and cultural seminars in his country, Syria.
The young portraitist’s drawing hobby started in 2013, then three years later, his artworks were first presented in the Faculty of Economics at Damascus University.
The artistic journey of Mahmoud thoughtfully using black and white colors only, then started focusing on light and shadows, thus shading bright areas and their dimensions, to finally move onto communicating with the void through oil colors, where he states finding his ability to express what is going on behind the voices of his character, inspired from his nature and vision of the subject .

What I am expressing, whether this topic is a person, an animal or a silent nature, expresses all this in a special way using colors, sound composition, solid anthropomorphism and deep feeling.
And while my belonging came through my duty as an artist as I try to develop it to be my artistic project, which I am working on developing.
