“Await” is a 70*50 cm oil on paper painting by the Syrian contemporary painter Mohammad Alolabi, representing faces of people awaiting the next scene.

What if life was just a movie scene, each day that passes by is a different sequence than the preceding one? Can you believe that you might be a character in a play, and the reality you believe you are living is just a series of acts? Then you are just an actor, my friend, and so are the people around you, the ones you know and the ones you don’t, only sitting there and awaiting the next scene.
